HOSPITAL COMPARE
Making a decision about the hospital care that either you or a loved one receives can be difficult. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides free information regarding the quality of care provided by hospitals through its "Hospital Compare"website. This website contains information that lets you easily compare the quality of care provided by hospitals in your area by presenting information on ten (10) quality measures related to three (3) conditions, namely, heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia.
"Hospital Compare"was created through collaborative efforts between CMS and organizations representing hospitals, doctors, employers, accrediting institutions, and other federal agencies. Data for a hospital’s quality performance comes directly from each hospital’s patient records. All data has been de-identified to protect patient confidentiality.
