Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is the administrator of the Medicare program and works with each state to administer its Medicaid program, the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, and health insurance portability standards. CMS also oversees the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) program, contracting with QIOs (like Masspro) to ensure that care paid for by the Medicare program is reasonable and medically necessary, meets professionally recognized standards of health care, and is provided in the most economical setting.

The Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the development and value of health plans in Massachusetts. Massachusetts Medical Society
The Massachusetts Medical Society is the oldest continuously operating medical society in the United States. Its mission is to “…advance medical knowledge, to develop and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards of medical practice and health care, and to promote medical institutions formed on liberal principles for the health, benefit and welfare of the citizens of the Commonwealth."

The Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA) is a statewide membership organization that seeks through advocacy, education, coalition building, and organized action to improve the health of the public, promote the establishment of health care as a human right, and secure optimal community, personal, and environmental health.
Medicare Advocacy Project
The Medicare Advocacy Project (MAP) is a group of experienced attorneys and paralegals who provide free legal advice and representation to elderly and disabled people who may have been unfairly denied Medicare coverage. MAP provides information by phone and offers printed materials for those enrolled in traditional Medicare or in a Medicare Health Plan. MAP's toll-free number is 1-800-323-3205.
