Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition
The Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition (MAIC) is a partnership of health care professionals dedicated to increasing adult immunization through networking and sharing innovative and best practices. There are currently over 165 members representing local public health, senior service organizations, health insurance plans, college health services, hospitals, physicians, community health centers, private companies and vaccine manufacturers.
The coalition meets quarterly to discuss and strategize around issues including the supply of publicly and privately purchased vaccine, immunization activities and uptake, analysis of the flu season, planning for a potential influenza pandemic, and targeted approaches to increase immunization rates. One of the principal activities of the coalition is the organization of the annual adult immunization conference, which draws over 300 individuals committed to increasing adult immunization.
