Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition
The Massachusetts Adult Immunization Coalition (MAIC) is a partnership of health care professionals dedicated to increasing adult immunization through networking and sharing innovative approaches. There are currently over 40 members representing local and state public health agencies, senior service groups, health care networks, community-based healthcare organizations, and health insurers.
The MAIC meets quarterly to discuss and strategize around issues including the supply of publicly and privately purchased vaccine, immunization activities and uptake, analysis of the flu season, planning for a potential influenza pandemic, and targeted approaches to increase immunization rates. One of the principal activities of the coalition is the organization of the annual adult immunization conference, which typically draws 300 individuals with various interests and roles in immunization.
