culture change
Culture change in long-term care represents a transformation in how care is delivered to and experienced by nursing home residents. It represents a true change from institutional to person-centered care. The culture of a nursing home is important to the overall satisfaction and well being of residents and staff.
Masspro, as part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) 8th Scope of Work, is working to improve the organizational culture of nursing homes by engaging in activities that will assist them with organizing their systems to improve quality of life for all residents and staff. Strategies to accomplish this will include: workshops, peer-to-peer collaboratives, site visits, technical assistance, statistical analysis, telephone consultation, and conference calls.
